The Interactive Classroom Working Group will enable Ministries of Education and regional education authorities to explore common areas of concern, share experience, showcase good practice, and develop recommendations for policy makers, school managers, teachers and ICT industry partners.

The Terms of Reference for the Interactive Classroom Working Group currently has two main elements:
  1. Pedagogical use and impact of mobile devices on teaching and learning. ICWG activities here will build on work being carried out by 12 Ministries of Education in the European Schoolnet Creative Classrooms Lab project involving tablet policy experimentations and will include a particular focus on the challenges faced by both policy makers and practitioners related to developing sustainable BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) strategies. A Guide to BYOD will be published in September 2015.

  2. Development of learning cloud computing strategies, including issues related to privacy, identity management/authentication, data storage. Many policy makers in Europe are still at a very early stage in exploring the potential of K-12 learning cloud solutions. ICWG activities will aim to support policy makers that have begun to develop a national or regional strategy for the deployment of cloud services.
