“Mathias and Amadou
The major challenge for the next 25 years is to reduce by half the intolerable poverty in the world.
The adults striving to achieve this will without doubt not see their efforts through to the end. Our children have to take over the task. They who spontaneously know about sharing have to be helped by us to discover and understand why and how, each and every one, wherever they may be, whatever their means… can contribute to building a better world in which the North and South unite their destiny.
Education is one of our main priorities. This is why we have created an illustrated book designed to explain very simply to young Europeans aged 6 to 8 what development co-operation is all about and what the European Union is doing in this area. It is titled “Mathias and Amadou”.
To help you - as parents, teachers and educators – to help our children to discover this book, we also wanted to compile a brief teaching manual detailing a little of the reality hidden behind the 16 original storyboards.
We would be grateful if you can provide us with lists of schools where we could send the comic strip and the teaching manual.
