    LEARN MORE ABOUT PEER LEARNING IN EUROPE WITH P2V
    The P2V (Peer to Peer Networking for Valorisation) portal was launched at the end of January. It features the latest development in the P2V project. P2V aims to help teachers, inspectors and policy makers discover methods, pedagogies and inspection schemes in other countries using peer learning.

    P2V is a continuation from P2P (Peer Reviews and Observatory on Policy and Practice in ICT), another peer learning projects led by EUN.

    SAFER INTERNET DAY COMPETITION
    On 12 February 2008, the Insafe network will lead celebrations across the world to mark the 5th annual Safer Internet Day. This year's theme is "Life online is what YOU make of IT". Now it is up to the public to use Insafe's online voting platform to select the winner.

    MAKE SCIENCE EDUCATION A FUN EXPERIENCE WITH XPERIMANIA
    Europe is facing a crisis in science education with fewer and fewer students pursuing studies or careers in science. Xperimania (www.xperimania.net) aims to combat students' bad perception of chemistry by offering fun yet simple hands-on activities to help teachers revitalise their teaching, and raise awareness of petrochemistry among secondary school students.

    INNOVATIVE SCIENCE PEDAGOGY IN RESEARCH AND EDUCATION
    The INSPIRE project aims to develop and experiment new teaching methods in the field of math, science and technology (MST). The purpose is to challenge the lack of interest of students to start scientific studies and more widely to extend the supply of scientific specialists and to develop a scientific culture in European countries.

    In its second year the "Energy is our Future" school programme (FuturEnergia) focuses on enhancing and supporting energy education across the curriculum in schools. The programme is intended to raise awareness on how energy consumption might affect climate change and how advanced materials such as plastics can help save energy and create a sustainable future.

    Peer Learning Visit Survey

    SECOND POLICY VISIT OF THE P2V PROJECT IN BARCELONA
    On 20-23 February 2008 the second policy peer learning visit of the P2V project (Peer to Peer Networking for Valorisation) will table place in Barcelona. The Barcelona visit follows the first peer learning visit which took place in June 2007 in Lithuania. As part of the Policy strand of the P2V project, three visits are planned, the last one scheduled in France in the summer.

    ONLINE INFORMATION CENTRE - TAKE THE SURVEY
    EUN is currently working closely with key names in the mobile and internet industry to create an online information centre to guide teachers through the multiple opportunities and challenges that the virtual world brings. A core element of the centre will be the availability of free downloadable curriculum materials covering the latest technologies. We invite you to bring your own expertise to the project.

    DEVELOPMENT YOUTH PRIZE 2007 DEADLINE EXTENDED
    DYP 2007 has a special focus on sustainable development in Africa. Interested pupils between the age of 16 to 18 can still take part in the competition. The deadline has been extended to 31 March 2008.

    The 50 Years Together in Diversity competition closed on 31 December 2007. We would like to inform the participants that the competition entries are currently being evaluated in two stages that are scheduled from 1 January to 15 February 2008.
