SMILE Social Media in Learning & Education


The outcomes of the SMILE project, funded by a Digital Citizenship Research Grant from Facebook, are published in a digital handbook. Teachers can find pedagogical materials and resources from the learning laboratory with many valuable reflections and suggestions on some critical aspects of the use of social media as regards school policies, pedagogical principles, professional development, responsible use and challenges to adoption.

Developing Practical Guidelines for 1:1 Computing Initiatives


This set of practical guidelines has been developed by a team of experts at European Schoolnet following their work with 1:1 computing initiatives; in particular the experience gained in the practical implementation of the Acer-European Schoolnet Educational Netbook Pilot and the Acer-European Schoolnet Educational Tablet pilot.

Survey of Schools: ICT in Education


Based on over 190,000 responses from students, teachers and head teachers collected and analysed during the school year 2011-12, the survey provides detailed, up-to-date and reliable benchmarking of Information and Communication Technologies in school level education across Europe, painting a picture of educational technology in schools: from infrastructure provision to use, confidence and attitudes.

Science Education in European Schools: Selected Practices from the STELLA Catalogue


The STELLA project aims at contributing to the improvement of science teaching in European schools, with particular emphasis being placed on the stimulation of young people, especially female students, to undertake science studies and ultimately follow further careers within the science field.
