The present report has been commissioned by European Schoolnet, aiming to bring innovation in teaching and learning across education systems. Such transformation of education processes for 21st century digitalized societies is done by identifying and testing promising innovative practices, sharing evidence about their impact, and supporting the mainstreaming of teaching and learning practices aligned with 21st century standards for inclusive education.

The Future Classroom Lab (FCL) aims to be an inspirational learning environment, challenging visitors to rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design in their classrooms. One of the clearest indicators that the FCL has a positive impact are evidence of increased support and interest from Ministries of Education for alternative learning spaces and the creation of large numbers of local learning labs in several European countries.

After two years of collaborative effort to tackle online hate speech, the SELMA project is drawing to a close. The SELMA Digital Book “ How SELMA is driving online change” draws upon the experiences and successes of the many people who became involved in the project.

eTwinning promotes skills that are necessary to achieve a democratic culture such as autonomous learning, analytical and critical thinking, listening and observing, empathy, flexibility and adaptability, linguistic, communicative and plurilingual skills, co-operation, and conflict-resolution. Through these skills, eTwinning highlights the benefits of active citizenship and demonstrates that teachers can contribute to the creation of sustainable democracies.
