Europeana Creative

Europeana Creative was a project that promoted greater re-use of cultural heritage resources by Europe's creative industries. The project aimed to demonstrate that Europeana, the portal providing access to about 53 million digitised cultural heritage objects from across Europe, can facilitate the creative re-use of digital cultural heritage content and associated metadata.

The project was launched at the Austrian National Library in Vienna and 26 partners from 14 European countries with diverse backgrounds contributed to it. These include content providing institutions with world famous collections, creative industry hubs and organisations, the tourism and education sectors, living labs, software developers and multimedia experts, as well as think tanks. European Schoolnet, as partner in the project, was providing the Future Classroom Lab as one of the project's physical laboratory environments serving as a hub for the collaborative design activities of the project.
