EVIDALI – Evidence-Informed Data Literacy for Policy & Practice

EVIDALI is a three-year Erasmus+ starting in March 2025, project that aims to strengthen data literacy strategies in primary and secondary education across Europe.

The project focuses on both the policy and practice dimensions of data use in schools. It investigates how data is currently used by teachers and school leaders, identifies training needs, and supports policy makers in designing evidence-informed strategies.
 
To achieve its objectives, EVIDALI will carry out a mapping analysis of existing national strategies, implement the Data Literacy Survey in Schools, facilitate Policy Learning Labs involving policymakers and researchers, validate good practices through practitioner engagement, and develop a multilingual MOOC for teachers and trainers.
 
 

Core Project Partners

The EVIDALI project includes 7 core partners in the consortium, bringing together ministries of education, research institutions, and regional education authorities from across Europe.

European Schoolnet acts as the coordinator of the project and leads its overall management, communication, and outreach activities.

Fondazione Bruno Kessler – FBK-IRVAPP (Italy) and the European Institute of Education and Social Policy – EIESP (France) bring in-depth expertise in policy research, data analysis, and the facilitation of policy learning processes.

Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Castilla y León (Spain) and Provincia Autonoma di Trento (Italy) represent regional education authorities with strong connections to schools and are responsible for supporting the validation of good practices and implementation in real-life school settings.

Associação Regional para o Desenvolvimento das Tecnologias de Informação na Madeira – DTIM (Portugal) supports teacher training and contributes to the design and dissemination of data literacy strategies and tools.

The Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation (Malta) participates in the mapping and comparative analysis of existing data literacy policies across the EU.

  • · Mapping report on data literacy strategies in EU Member States
  • · Results and analysis from the data literacy survey conducted in four education systems
  • · Policy briefs and recommendations co-developed in Policy Learning Labs
  • · A validated set of 10 good practices for data use in schools
  • · A free MOOC on Data Literacy for Teaching hosted on the European Schoolnet Academy
  • · A MOOC resource pack and supporting dissemination materials (videos, podcast, infographics)
  • · Strengthened cross-sector collaboration among policy makers, researchers, and practitioners in education
