European Schoolnet took part in the Bett Global Ministerial Symposium 2026 as one of five strategic partners, alongside UNESCO, OECD, UNICEF and the UK Department for Education.

The Work Programme will serve as a roadmap for the organisation to continue as a key player in shaping the future of Europe's education.

What if being small was actually a strength? Across Europe, thousands of schools in rural and remote areas are doing things differently: managing mixed-age classrooms, leaning into their communities, and using limited resources in surprisingly innovative ways. A new online course launching this autumn will aim to learn from them and support others to do the same.

European Schoolnet is presenting the first publication of its Special Interest Group on "Small and Rural Schools" titled "Rural Schools Under Focus". This publication features 11 monographies, covering 11 countries (Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, Spain) in 11 languages and a comparative analysis of the findings of these monographies.
