Start with the Entrepreneurial School - 10 steps to introduce entrepreneurial education in the classroom

04/03/2015

The Entrepreneurial School has launched a quick guide that takes teachers through 10 simple steps on how to introduce entrepreneurial learning in their classroom.

Entrepreneurial learning belongs at all age levels and in all subject areas in the school system. It is a process through which learners acquire a broad set of competencies that can bring greater individual, social and economic benefits since the competences acquired lend themselves to application in every aspect of people's lives. Entrepreneurship in this sense refers to an individual's ability to turn ideas into action. It includes creativity, innovation, showing initiative and risk-taking, as well as the ability to plan and manage projects in order to achieve objectives.

Where to start?

  •          The first step is to register in the TES Guide main page and do a self – evaluation. After the registration, you can start answering the 30 questions that will tell you where you stand. When you finish, you will receive a personalised feedback.

  •           With the feedback in mind, start playing with the tools and methods available on the website. Try using some of the uploaded materials and see how students react. Don’t forget to write a review of the tool or method used!

  •           Get news and updated information on the content of the guide and opportunities for participating in webinars and seminars by subscribing to the monthly newsletter.

  •            Don’t miss the “Policy and Strategy” area of the www.tesguide.eu where you can find reference documents on entrepreneurship education. You can start by reading "Does entrepreneurship begin in the classroom?”

  •           Find out how other European schools practice entrepreneurial learning, by browsing the “Schools and Good Practices” section of the www.tesguide.eu website.

  •           Last but not least, perform a new self-evaluation to check how you have improved since you started. Log on with your username and password and answer the questions once more and you will get fresh feedback!

Get started by consulting the Quick Start Guide to Entreprise Education!

 About the project

The Entrepreneurial School is a 3-year project aiming to launch a "Virtual Guide to Entrepreneurial Learning" (www.tesguide.eu) with tools and methods to support entrepreneurial learning. The project will focus on teachers and their professional development as well as on making schools more 'entrepreneurial'. The Entrepreneurial School will train over 4000 teachers in the next 3 years across 18 countries.
