Meet the scientist from BIFI data center with Global excursion

The Global excursion project invites teachers and school to take part in the upcoming ‘Meet the Scientist' online session on 24 May 2013; this time with experts from the Institute for Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems (BIFI) in Zaragoza, Spain. Register now!

The BIFI data center host more than 6.000 computing cores, running applications from many research fields from drug discovery to particle physics. Participants will see the BIFI monitoring tools, biotechnology laboratory, working with human stem cells, and other e-science facilities.

Global excursion is an FP7 project, providing students and teachers in secondary schools online access to experimental laboratories and e-science application run by research institutes around the world. The project’s Virtual Science Hub – ViSH ( contains a selection of e-infrastructures, a collaboration platform for teachers and scientists, and a virtual excursion room, where students can experience real e-science applications.
