New eSafety Label portal now live

Earlier this summer, the online safety support and accreditation service for schools eSafety Label launched a brand new portal. What novelties does this launch bring? Read on to find out!

First things first: what is the eSafety Label initiative?

Launched back in 2012, the eSafety Label is a Europe-wide accreditation and support service for schools, aiming to provide a secure, enriching environment with safe access to online technology as part of the teaching and learning experience.

Over the years, the vibrant community of teachers and online safety experts has grown to almost 6,500 members, thus improving the online experience (and safety) of over 160,000 students and pupils in 35 countries.

Out with the old…and in with the new

This summer, European Schoolnet launched the new eSafety Label portal, consisting of a public-facing website and an internal community for registered members. eSafety Label's new home provides a fresh new look and feel, new tools and guides, and above all, an improved user experience. While the accreditation process for schools remains the core service of the initiative, the new portal offers more opportunities to exchange ideas and build a community around online safety thanks to the improved resource gallery, incident case repository, blog, poll and forum areas.

In case you've missed it

Together with the new portal, the eSafety Label initiative has launched a new logo and visual identity, with a more modern, abstract and simpler look.
