European Schoolnet 2026 roadmap for education
We are pleased to announce the European Schoolnet Work Programme of 2026. This document will serve as a roadmap for the organisation to continue as a key player in shaping the future of Europe's education.
European's schoolnet efforts this year will focus on:
- • Ecouraging policy learning: offering usable evidence in the area of innovation in education, as well as fostering policy exchanges and peer-learning among policymakers to improve and transform education policies.
- • Supporting schools and teachers' development by strengthening school cooperation in Europe, testing and promoting innovative teaching approaches and methods, encouraging teachers' lifelong learning and continuous professional development, and offering them pedagogical resources and training.
- • Contributing to the EU agenda : supporting the European Commission in achieving some of the objectives set in its Political Guidelines, through different initiatives and projects.
- • Animating working groups, to enable experts from different ministries to discuss emerging topics and challenges impacting their education community and share experiences and recommendations.
- • Fostering collaboration with key players in Europe's education: developing new partnership with the industry and academia.
In 2026, the work of the organisation gives priority to four focus areas:
- • Artificial intelligence and data use in education, with an emphasis on responsible and ethical approaches
- • Digital well-being and online safety, supporting children's rights in a digital world
- • Digital skills and competences, contributing to Europe's Digital Decade objectives
- • STEM education challenges, including inclusion, the need for skills and gender balance
