Champions for the Digital Decade project launches Open Call for financial support of National Coalitions

The Champions for the Digital Decade (C4DD) project is a European initiative aimed at advancing the development and coordination of national digital skills ecosystems.

The Champions for the Digital Decade (C4DD) project, launched in March 2025, is a European initiative aimed at advancing the development and coordination of national digital skills ecosystems. Funded under the DIGITAL Europe Programme, and building on the foundation laid by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the project brings together 17 partners—among them 15 National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs—to strengthen the digital skills landscape across the European Union.

National Coalitions (NCs) are multi-stakeholder partnerships established in EU Member States to improve access to digital training, resources, and opportunities. They play a critical role in supporting the objectives of the European Commission's Digital Decade Policy Programme, which includes the goal of equipping at least 80% of Europeans with basic digital skills and to ensure 20 million ICT specialists are in employment by 2030. At the national level, these coalitions contribute by maintaining websites connected to the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, helping individuals, organisations, and policymakers access reliable and timely information on digital skills initiatives, funding, and events.

In support of these efforts, the C4DD project has now launched a new Open Call for Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP), with the objective of further strengthening the capacity and reach of National Coalitions.

The Open Call

The Open Call is designed to provide targeted financial support to both newly established and existing National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs. Funding will support efforts to improve the visibility, accessibility, and interoperability of national websites connected to the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, thereby enhancing the user experience and ensuring greater dissemination of information across Europe.

New National Coalitions may use the funding to design and launch their national platforms, while established Coalitions can apply to upgrade infrastructure, improve content and services, and expand their networks of stakeholders. In all cases, the overarching aim is to foster collaboration, promote accessibility, and support the exchange of best practices within the European digital skills community.

The open call aligns with the Union of Skills objectives by supporting the development of both basic and advanced digital skills and providing individuals across the EU with opportunities to regularly update and acquire new skills throughout their lives.

Eligibility

The call is open exclusively to National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs operating in EU Member States.
