Reflecting Forward: European Schoolnet's Annual Report 2023

Highlights from European Schoolnet's Initiatives
- Agile Edu project: Collaborating with Ministries of Education across countries, we exchanged experiences and built evidence on data use in education, supporting informed policy decisions, embracing change, and raising awareness of the impact of data across the entire school community.
- European Year of Skills: Our leading role supported the public sector, schools, teachers, and learners to embrace change responsibly and inclusively, significantly contributing to the development of digital skills amongst European schools, teachers, and students.
- Digital Citizenship: Initiatives like Better Internet for Kids focused on empowering children and young people to navigate the digital media landscape actively, critically, and creatively.
- STEM Education: Under Scientix, our projects met challenges linked to the attractiveness of STEM studies and jobs at the secondary level, fostering an understanding of the importance of STEM in daily life.
- New Teaching & Learning Models: Through platforms like the European Schoolnet Academy and the Future Classroom Lab, we trained thousands of teachers and engaged with educators and industry representatives, driving innovation in teaching practices and learning environments.
European Schoolnet extends heartfelt gratitude to all those who believe in the positive impact of our endeavours. We especially thank our network of Ministries of Education, whose collaborative efforts each year shape our strategic vision, addressing critical societal challenges and enriching the educational landscape. Additionally, we express our deepest appreciation to our valued partners who have stood by us in our journey towards educational transformation.
To the dedicated teachers across Europe, we offer our sincerest thanks. Your passion, dedication, and tireless efforts in the classroom are the cornerstone of educational progress. It is through your commitment to excellence that we are able to realise our mission of driving positive change in education.
Looking forward to 2024, our organisation will continue to invite all key players to challenge current thinking and to explore effective ways of mainstreaming innovation in education across Europe. To do that, the organisation will focus on supporting Ministries of Education to transform Europe's educational systems with innovative solutions that motivate, protect, and empower the next generation of students and teachers. We aim to facilitate synergies between practitioners, researchers, schools, policymakers, and the industry at European and national levels to foster new teaching and learning models, develop teachers' capacity building, facilitate schools' partnerships, attract talent to STEM careers, and promote safe and responsible use of data, new technologies, new environments, and new teaching methods.
