Spring Day for Europe 2008 website launched
For the sixth time, European Schoolnet, on behalf of the European Commission, is coordinating the Spring Day for Europe campaign. On 17 March 2008 a new web portal was launched to encourage schools to register and take part in a large series of events.

Are you a teacher and interested to help European Schoolnet to run a school competition for the 10 years of the Euro currency? The project will start in May 2008 and end in March 2009. One teacher from every member state of the Euro area will be selected and granted an honorarium for their work.
The deadline for applications is 15 May 2008

Have you ever wondered about the materials around you? Xperimania aims to help European teachers and students to explore the properties of materials, and understand some of the processes involved in creating materials used in every day objects like MP3 players, tennis rackets and sports shoes.

Maltese project wins 2007 EUN eLearning Awards
The project ‘Rescue La Vallette: An Adventure in Time’ from the Dun Anton Manche school in Malta won the Young Digital Planet Award for best use of ICT at the 7th eLearning Awards. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the EMINENT 2007 Conference in Brussels on 6 December 2007.

CALIBRATE
The CALIBRATE (Calibrating eLearning in Schools) project (October 2005 – March 2008) brings together eight Ministries of Education, (including six MoEs from new member states), to carry out a multi-level project designed to support the collaborative use and exchange of learning resources in schools.
