In this episode of the European Schoolnet Podcast, we explore how Greece is implementing the Future Classroom Lab (FCL) model to bring innovation, collaboration and digital transformation into schools.

We speak with Professor Zacharoula Smyrnaiou, lead FCL ambassador for Greece and Vice President of the Computer Technology Institute (CTI) Diophantus, and teacher-researcher Zois Asimakopoulos, co-lead ambassador, about how schools are engaging students with project-based learning, supporting teachers with new digital tools, and creating innovative learning centres across urban and rural regions.

Lead FCL ambassador for Greece and Vice President of the Computer Technology Institute (CTI) Diophantus

Professor Zacharoula Smyrnaiou is a Professor in Contemporary Learning Theories and Science Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Vice President of the Computer Technology Institute "Diophantus". She leads initiatives on educational innovation, teacher professional development, and digital transformation in Greek schools.

Zois Asimakopoulos

Teacher-researcher and co-lead FCL ambassador for Greece

Zois Asimakopoulos is a secondary school teacher and postdoctoral researcher at NKUA and CTI Diophantus. His work focuses on educational robotics, AI integration, and project-based approaches across STEM and humanities subjects.
