Scientix: Building the Science and Maths Education Community in Europe
23/04/2013
Scientix (scientix.eu) promotes teaching materials from STEM research projects, and supports Europe-wide collaboration among science and maths teachers, researchers, policymakers and other professionals in STEM education
Originally an initiative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, the project is now managed under the EU’s 7th Framework Programme.
After the first phase of the project (2009-2011), Scientix is now expanding to national level. The National Contact Points connect Scientix activities with national teacher communities, promoting innovative teaching practices, and organising teacher training in their respective countries.
An important part of the project will be the Scientix Conference, to take place in May 2014 in Brussels, Belgium: with the expected participation of around 600 teachers, policymakers, researchers and project managers, it will be one of the major networking events in STEM education in Europe.
